The issue this project targets to address: War Trauma

A traumatic event is a shocking, frightening, or hazardous experience that has an emotional impact on a person. People in Ukraine have been exposed to numerous traumatic events during the conflict. Children exhibit numerous psychological responses, including increased clinginess, mutism, attachment difficulties, anxiety, behavioral issues, and sleep disturbances. Additionally, Ukrainians have endured stressful and traumatic experiences during their migration journey, which can contribute to a variety of mental health issues, such as, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. In assimilating to life in their host country, they face a variety of obstacles, such as language barriers, financial concerns, cultural differences, social marginalization, etc. Thus, resettlement is also associated with distressing conditions that contribute to poor physical and mental health, such as high rates of trauma and other stress-related disorders.
